Grey^s Anatomy S03 Episode 1: Time Has Come Today

Alright, just a little refresh... Last season's finale ended with:
- Burke getting shot! Residual hand tremor post-op=( Cristina lets Burke know she's there for him. I love their couple development. Sweetness XD
- A make-up prom at Seattle Grace (obv an excuse to dress up the cast ;D) for the Chief's niece Camille, who has cancer=(
- Denny dies *sobbb*. Just when he's proposed! Just when I decided he was more than a sweet talking head. Just when I'd grown attached to him. Izzie is beyond devastated. The gang stick together. Izzie confesses to cutting the LVAD wire before quitting the internship! I love the scene where the boys flank Izzie down the stairs like she's Queen Izzie=D
- Mer n Der do the nasty *shock*horror*! And Finn has plans too... Meredith misplaces her panties uh-oh... McDreamy: "What does this mean?" What does it mean indeed...Well, S3 underway and on to finding out!;)

Time Has Come Today
Izzie's new home is the bathroom floor. She's in shock, understandably, following her fiance's sudden departure=( The gang take it in turns to be floor-mates with her and try to get her out of her stupor, all the while favouring Meredith for the job coz she's "dark and twisty". The ep's theme is time and how it ticks by and throughout the eps, there are flashbacks which give us more of an insight to the characters' pasts, which tie in with what we already know of them (like Alex hooking up with Olivia, seeing the gang as newbies!=D, watching an argument between young Ellis and Richard). McFinn vouches for himself and declares Derek as bad for Meredith. We discover that Addy found Mer's panties!!!=O Poor woman, she doesn't get a break. Heh but then again, cheating must involve some serious karma.

Medically, 2 sets of dilemmas. A couple involved in a carcrash, both beset with the plague! The wife became a trauma case and, due to the plague complicating matters, didn't survive, to the heartbreak of her quarantined hubby=( Bailey aches to give more than across-the-quarantine-room-door support but obviously is unable to and we get that she's feeling guilty about the whole Denny-Izzie Denny-death situation and the guilt has been extrapolated to the current situation with Omar the hubby. McDreamy and McGeorgie get quarantined in the locker room after the wifey, who Derek operated on, was confirmed to have the plague.

The other case was an abandoned baby (grr irresponsible denizens) and trying to figure out which super-young 14 yo teen is the mother, so they can cross-match and try and save the poor baby's life. The teens weren't keen on fessing up, especially with their disbelieving fervently-denying-the-remote-possibility parents around. In the end, the mother of the baby in question confessed, to Addy's relief. Hmm I wonder if Alex might truly have a future in Paeds/Gynae?! It would totally be ironic seeing as how he stereotyped Izzie as such in the beginning;) Also, it might just be me and my uber-excitement at having Grey's around again and therefore reading non-existent signs, but I get this feeling that Addy and Alex might hook up?! Well, don't mind the random thought but hey, anything can happen in Grey's;) Of course, the whole intern-doc thing has been done to death so...verdict is, we'll see=)

Annnnd the quarantined boys (we haven't forgotten you;D) have a surreal almost heart-to-heart with Derek advising George to not let Callie slip through his fingers, much like Meredith did when he didn't confess he loved her and when he made the wrong choice. After they got the greenlight from the quarantine squad, they (esp Dr. McDreamy, I have to add) made haste to Meredith's casa. Worried Callie envelopes George in a hug immediately and tells him she loves him. Derek looks on in disappointment when George can't bring himself to say it back. Still into Meredith, I suppose... And finally, we have the Mer-Der moment! He tells her how he's so in love with her, how he made the wrong choice, how he wanted to rush over in the morning to please choose him but finally says that what the...um, 'encounter' last night meant was that Mer had a choice to make and he would let her take her time, as long as she needed so she'd make the right choice for her. To close, Cristina has a breakdown-moment and urges Burke not to die on her. Aww. Adele has had enough of waiting and I think has decided to leave Richard who she could see did not want to quit being Seattle Grace's chief. Izzie's shock seems to have abated and with Meredith on hand, she decides she's ready and it's time to get off the floor, take off the prom dress and start accepting reality.

Now I just can't wait for next week's ep "I Am A Tree". Lol if you say so;). Ahh it feels like having friends back y'know?;)
