i ♥ Fridays

Ahh...back in my room, sitting in my comfy chair, lazing in front of my laptop...lol and not actually a case of slacker-itis this time too;) The weekend has arrived and I'm going to be lazy and catch up on watching all the stuff I've dl-ed over the week that *sob* the busy days have kept me from enjoying, and then blog them up here.

On another note, being back in my room, sitting in my comfy chair and lazing in front of my laptop, my room is actually bright again. Whee~~~ I should explain, the apartment I live in is quite...compact, shall we say. In fact, the first impression I had of my bedroom was that it was akin to being in a white box with brown or muted accents. It was charming enough though with huge windows for light so it wasn't too bad. My main complaint though is, as I have said, it's tiny. I lived in a student flat back in Dunedin and my room was pretty huge, especially compared to this place, and I'd accumulated a t.o.n of stuff. Now that my room is all lived-in, it just looks really full. And my main moan-sob-scream gripe about it is the pathetic excuse for a wardrobe. I still have 2 suitcases that are stuffed with clothes which I once in a while go through in search of forgotten things to wear and the wardrobe space I do have is already filled to bursting. Lol maybe I should rent a separate room for all my clothes but then again, if I was that rich, I'd have moved out to another place alreadyXD

Anyhow, being such a tiny room with only 2 light sources and brown accents, it gets quite dark when one of the lights go out, as I have experienced to my complete and utter dismay. I know, obviously all it takes is a change of lightbulbs, but the problem with these lights (which I am so not installing in my future house) are the fact that you have to remove the frosted covers before you can change the bulbs. And it's damn hard to do when the covers are screwed on pretty tight. And even more problematic is that, the covers are screwed on around a metal base so with all the temperature differences and expansion/contraction and the law of physics and all that, the covers easily get stuck. Furthermore if you attempted to twist the covers off too hard, you can accidentally push in the base towards the ceiling and are in danger of twisting the entire lamp, rather than just the cover, off=O Too much work for a change of lightbulbs don't you think!

Well, I had one of those covers stuck to the base and no amount of twisting would remove said cover. I didn't want it to progress to the wires-hanging-out-lamp-in-your-hands-plus-horrified-expression=O scenario so I made a complaint at reception. The manager couldn't get it off so they said they'd call in an electrician. And that took more than a month until today, where I flicked it on to get rid of the depressing dark-yellowness of my room and voila, the light worked!=D Of course, now I feel almost tempted to not switch it off just in case it was a fluke hehe...

Anyhooooo~~~ Off to weekend relaxation and watching my eps now!=D Grey's anatomy dl-ing as I type...
