The Guy With High Notions

My beloved 一ノ瀬巧 ;D

i ♥ 一ノ瀬巧i ♥ タクミ, Takumi

Okay, just so you can't say I didn't warn you (and in case you hadn't already realised), this is the disclaimer of all disclaimers: I am prone to extensive bouts of gushing and swoon sessions...the disclaimer of all disclaimers: I am prone to extensive bouts of gushing and swoon sessions. When I'm caught in the throes of gush-sesh-subject-matter-induced rapture, I can quite happily stay in this blissful state and go on and on about the sure-to-be-delightful heretofore mentioned gush-sesh-subject-matter. And while my bishie collection may be extensive and not always transcend past the realms of line art or CG into RL (to my bitter, bitter disappointment!), each and everyone of them are tres special to me lol;D So, now that you're armed with that info, proceed with caution as I introduce to you my collection;)

Granted, I must say this a gazillion times, but that is the right I reserve as an über-fangirl: I am so fricking in love with this man! *sigh*

He is the bassist and leader of the hottest rock band in Japan at the point of Hachi's reminiscing as per ナナ-land. He's tall, lean and has beautiful long, black hair. Armed with his handsome looks, fame and fortune, women the world over flock to him so, unsurprisingly, Takumi (タクミ) is a big flirt and quite the player. Our impressionable Hachi declares him as her favourite member (fellow fangirl!=D), so imagine her amazement and pleasure when he opens the door to 707 one evening, greeting her from work, looking all hot and dreamy! Nana O has arranged the sweetest surprise and made Hachi's dream come true. To have a resourceful friend like that;) They don't actually interact much but for when they spend a rather domestic moment together while Hachi prepares the night's meals. He leans against the kitchen cabinet at one point, eating Jun-chan's delicious tomatoes. In fact, he seems to really enjoy Hachi's cooking=) Anyway, this is the start of when he became a prominent character.

After Hachi got fired one day, he called her up. Coincidentally, Hachi happened to be in the area and he invited her out for dinner and a drive. Knowing the implications, Hachi still followed him. They ended up sleeping together and later on, ended up having a relationship. Many people feel that the relationship started purely out of Takumi's desire to stop Nobu from having Hachi, but I think it's more than that. True that he's quite the control freak, but I think he truly did like Hachi as more than just a one-night stand. If he didn't, he wouldn't have left his contact details as he left the hotel room. I think she did manage to make an impression and linger in his mind, and the incident with Nobu and Blast propelled him to take more action. He, being more mature and worldly, sees Hachi for who she really is, right down to the loneliness. He understands her more than anyone, I feel. He steps up when Hachi is pregnant (highly likely to be Takumi's), fully intending to raise the child, even if it was Nobu's rather than his. He offers her marriage. Later on, he provides a house for them to live in together and subsequently ends up marrying her. My favourite moment was when they were in the tub and he realised Hachi's role in his life and professed to her that he loves her. Intimate moment and he meant it=)

He isn't perfect though and is a guy many fans love to hate. He's hot-headed and 'raped' Hachi. He's not without his vices and cheated on Hachi (the one time?) but I think that's more for Yazawa-sensei to portray his guilty conscience and the awakening of his love. To show that he doesn't want to be tempted to do it anymore. He is a total workaholic, with Toranesu being his everything but despite coming second, Hachi is his #1 woman. He is loyal to Toranesu and cares about Reira like a sister. He is noble enough to not take advantage of her love for him, and that shows how he is able to care for someone=) He actually has quite a sad childhood, with an alcoholic father and a sickly mother who later passed away, and this is probably what propelled him to work so hard and be perceived as cold. He's quite aloof and no one really knows of his past but for those close to him. Once he discovered his love for music, he never looked back. He was born and raised in Nana O's snowy hometown in Northern Japan and went to high school with Reira, Naoki, Yasu and Ren. He had quite a reputation as a 'gangster' but became quite popular because of his band. He started Toranesu waaay back when. He once mentioned that he writes songs to showcase Reira's voice.

Why do I like him? He's the kind of guy I usually end up liking lol. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. He's awesome-looking: tall but not too tall, dark-haired, lean but not narrow, bishie but uber-masculine. He's languidly sexy and has a raw, tangible charisma that can't be switched off. He's so damn cool and isn't easily fazed, which I really really like. And when he cares about someone, he really cares. Yazawa-sensei creates characters which are real and flawed, and that's what makes her stuff so good, but for Takumi to truly be ideal, I'd add that criteria of him being a one-woman man who loves completely. Cold he may be to the rest of the world, but gentle and loving when it comes to his woman. That would be great=) And hopefully, that's how it turns out to be! He's got all the makings;)

Well, in the future scenes, we see him with shorter hair, remeniscent of his high-school days, and still married to Hachi (I presume so, although can't say with 100% certainty. Their smiles seemed somewhat...quiet? But tender I think ^_^) and at their Shirokane house. They have a beautiful daughter, Satsuki, who looks like Takumi and obviously loves her parents to bits. He just came back from a business trip bearing gifts, so is Toranesu still big? He has a gentle smile on his face and I hope that's an indicator that they've managed to find happiness and love in each other=) I always think that he sees Hachi for who she is and understands her so well because he recognises loneliness, being lonely himself. Having such a rough childhood, and being so driven most of his life, I think that he just wants to settle down and find happiness and that's why he offered himself to Hachi that time she was pregnant. Eagerly awaiting the new chappies to confirm that they're happy and in love=)

*Cue 'Trigger' as the pix slide by ;D*
